A message from The Diode

Dear Upper Story,

The Diode here. I’m feeling confused and unloved.

Everything you guys do has been very well thought out and seems to form part of a coherent, integrated design. But yet I seem to be an exception. Here I am, your only part which doesn’t feature in any of Act One, Act Two or The Power Pack.

Some people don’t even know I exist.

I really want to be appreciated for my uniqueness and single-mindedness and feel I have an important part to play for you. Please let me know what you intend for me.

Diodes are rad. You can make a rectifier, but also all sorts of junctures that allow you to invert or not invert multiple input currents under interdependent conditions. I don’t design a ton of new circuits that aren’t in the books, but the times I have, I have often used diodes and it’s my favorite component.
